Ermelinda is an aspiring and talented actress, having picked up awards during her high school years, back in the Philippines. However, like so many others from her country, she had to set aside her dreams to be able to give her family a better life.
She came to Singapore in 2008 looking forward to the new life ahead and to the prospect of earning a stable income.
Unfortunately, it became increasingly difficult to maintain her physical and mental well being at her place of employment. Currently unemployed, she lives in at the women’s shelter, run by HOME, awaiting to return home to her son.
